Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it and the choices you have.

Who we are

wildersignal.com is the data controller for this website. For any privacy question or request, write to privacy@wildersignal.com.

Data we collect

When you sign up: your email address and the option you choose (launch only, launch and newsletter, or working with us). If you choose working with us, we also ask for your name, your work or organisation, and what you have in mind. We record the studio name and address of the page you used, the code of the link you arrived by, if any, the version of the consent wording and of this page, and the dates you signed up, confirmed your address and unsubscribed, and the dates we sent your confirmation and welcome emails.

If you join through Discord or Telegram: the service you used, your Discord user ID or Telegram chat ID, the display name or first name it gives us, the option you chose, the code of the link you arrived by, if any, the version of the consent wording, and the dates you joined and stopped. We do not receive your email address or phone number, and we do not keep Discord’s sign-in access.

If you save a tuning: the name you give it, its values, the version of this page and the date. Your first save creates a random save code, kept in your browser and sent with your saves and any later sign-up, so that we can link them. It is never sent with usage statistics.

When you use the page: usage statistics, which are that the page loaded, the studio name shown, the code of the link you arrived by, and how long the page stayed open; your window size, screen density, touch or mouse, reduced-motion setting, country and device type (phone, tablet or desktop); how you first interacted, and the number of touches and drags; which controls you used and how (button, key or swipe), including the sound and its volume, the faces, the tuning panel and how long it stayed open, the tuning values you changed, the size of tunings saved or recalled and where, and the links to our channels; which face you revealed, with the clicks and time it took; whether the sign-up form was opened, and accepted or refused; how many people joined through Discord or Telegram; whether the page lowered its quality and its frame rate; and any error, with its type and a short message.

A random code held in memory for one visit separates that visit’s statistics from another’s. Statistics use no cookie, nothing that identifies you between visits, and nothing you typed. We never link them to a sign-up.

We do not keep your IP address, and our server’s request log is switched off.

How we use it

We use your email address only for the option you chose: one email when we launch, that email and an occasional newsletter, or a reply about working with us. We first email you a link to confirm your address, then a welcome email, and every email after that lets you unsubscribe in one step. If you ask to work with us, your address and message are also emailed to a studio mailbox so that a person can reply. If you sign up again, we keep your broadest choice and your latest details. Our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

We use usage statistics only to improve the page. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in doing so.

We do not sell your data, share it for marketing or use it for advertising or profiling.

Cookies and browser storage

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies, and the page loads no analytics, adverts, fonts or social buttons from other companies. Pressing “Sign in with Discord” sets one strictly necessary security cookie, which holds a random code, lasts up to ten minutes and is removed when sign-in ends.

Nothing is stored in your browser when you arrive. If you change a setting, the page remembers it there: meta-sound holds your sound and volume, meta-tune-v1 your tuning panel settings, saved tunings and save code, and meta-telemetry-optout your choice not to be counted. You can remove these by clearing your browser’s site data; the tuning panel’s Reset button removes meta-tune-v1.

Who handles your data

Cloudflare hosts the website, its database and the statistics, and acts only on our instructions. The database is held in the European Union. Cloudflare handles your IP address to deliver the page and to limit abuse; we do not receive it.

Resend, a US company, sends our emails and acts only on our instructions. It sends from Ireland and keeps sent emails and delivery records in the United States, under the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Discord and Telegram handle your data under their own privacy policies if you join through them. With Discord, we use your permission once, to read your name and ID and add you to our server, then give it back. Telegram gives our bot your chat ID and first name.

How long we keep it

We keep sign-ups, joins through Discord or Telegram, and saved tunings until the launch email has been sent, and for at most twelve months after that, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. An address not confirmed within 30 days moves to a separate archive, with any tunings linked to it, for the same period and receives no email. If you sign up again from there or after unsubscribing, we ask you to confirm again.

Usage statistics are deleted after about three months.

Your choices

To stop being counted in usage statistics, use this switch:

If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, you are not counted at all, whatever the switch says.

To stop hearing from us, use the unsubscribe link in any email or send /stop to our Telegram bot. For Discord, leave our server and write to privacy@wildersignal.com.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent, by writing to privacy@wildersignal.com. In the UK you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU, to your national data protection authority.
